Obituary of Fanny A. (Fishbaugh) DeMallie Waterport, NY/ Cape Vincent, NY/ Port Charlotte FL: Fanny A. DeMallie age 91, died October 22, 2016 at the Martin-Linsin Residence in Albion. She was born August 20, 1925 in Webster, NY a daughter of the late Charles and DeMaris (Turrill) Fishbaugh. Fanny was a Kindergarten teacher for Greece Central Schools for 37 years, retiring in 1983. Fanny owned a cottage on Beadle Point in Cape Vincent since 1953, where she would spend her summers and while there she enjoyed mowing her lawn and the neighbor’s lawn until she was 90 years old. Fanny would then spend her winters in Port Charlotte, FL. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, garage sales, antiques and anything nautical. Fanny was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Orleans Chapter and had a deep love for her country. She would raise the American Flag at sunrise and lower it at sunset every day. Fanny was predeceased by her husband, Charles W. “Chuck” and her brother, Charles “Chuck”.
She is survived by her sisters, Betty Cushing of Hilton, Irene (Glenn) Woolston of Waterport; step-son, Steven (Maria) DeMallie of W. Kendall; her cat, Misty; special niece, Donna (Woolston) Smith and several other nieces and nephews; great nieces, nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Ave Albion, Wednesday from 2:00-5:00, where her Celebration of her Life will follow at 5:00pm. Following her celebration everyone is invited to the Carlton Rec. Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans, P.O. Box 489, Albion, NY 14411.
