Obituary of Florence A. Egloff Barre: Florence A. Egloff, age 88, passed away on February 26, 2017 at The Villages of Orleans. She was born September 23, 1928 in Batavia, NY, a daughter of the late Edward and Anna (Roth) Egloff. Florence had lived in this area most of her life and was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph’s Church. She was employed over 30 years at T.J. Lipton and then worked for 10 years at Ontario Foods as a Lab Technician. Florence was an avid bowler, and enjoyed ceramics, knitting, crafting and puzzles.
She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Driesel; brother, Alexander Egloff; brother-in-law, Thomas Driesel; sister-in-law, Helen Egloff; nephew, Joseph Driesel and niece, Teresa Kodiak.
Florence is survived by her brother, Edward Egloff of Barre; nieces and nephews, Connie Driesel of Kent, Gerard (Laura) Driesel of Lyndonville, Anna (David) West of Erie, PA., Karl (Sue) Driesel of Barre, Rose Egloff of Rome, NY., Ed (Sarah) Egloff of CO., Alex (Mary Teresa Shaffer) Egloff of Barre, John Egloff of Barre, Mary Ann (Pat) Lewis of TN., Ben Egloff of Barre, Margaret (Matt) Libert of IL., as well as several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Avenue Albion, Thursday March 2, from 4:00-7:00. Family and friends are invited to meet at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph’s Church for Florence’s Mass of Christian Burial, Friday at 11:00am. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Family Parish or Ladies of Charity, 106 S. Main St. Albion, NY 14411.
