Obituary of Forrest Leon Ratliff Forrest “Swede” L. Ratliff, age 71, of Newfane, entered into rest on Friday, June 3, 2011 at his home. Born October 13, 1939 he Park River North Dakota, he was the son of the late Leon Grant and Ada Jan (Gilliespi) Ratliff Forrest married Carol McKee November 26, 1967 at the McKee home in Gasport. He had worked at Harrison Radiator as an oiler of machinery. He retired in 1993. Forrest enjoyed coin collecting, riding horses and playing polo. He loved traveling. He was a Boy Scout master for many years. Forrest was a member of the Park River American Legion post #0147. Forrest is survived by his loving wife Carol Suzanne (McKee) Ratliff. Dear father of: Michael Ratliff, Forrest “Swede” (Billie Jo) Ratliff Jr., Carol (Chris) Moore and Leah McGee. Grandfather of: Jessica Ratliff, Monica Ratliff, Andrew Ratliff, Morrissa Moore, Daniel Moore, Christian McGee, Darold Joseph McGee and Caleb Oxford. Great grandfather of: Caden Ratliff. Brother of: Leona Atkinson, Gracie Durancyk, Ada Kaszubski, Gary Ratliff and the late Deloris Smith and Jimmy Ratliff. Many nieces and nephews also survive him. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Quaker Road Methodist Church, 2800 Quaker Road, Gasport on Monday at 11:00 am with the Reverend Rick Heitzenrater officiating.
