Holley: Francis E. D’Andrea, age 89, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023. He was born May 25, 1934 in Holley to the late Mario and Marie (Zappone) D’Andrea.
Francis served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958. He was an active member of St. Mary’s Church in Holley where he volunteered much of his time tending to the grounds, singing at Masses and helping serve the parishioners. Francis spent 22 years working for Eastman Kodak where he retired as a frontline supervisor. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling with his son Daniel in leagues at Brockport Bowl and was well respected in the bowling community. Later in life, Francis began to run in marathons, completing many local races and a half marathon also, something that his family eventually enjoyed doing as well.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Arlene in 1996.
Francis is survived by his loving companion of 26 years, Donna Lavender, son Daniel D’Andrea, stepchildren, Jackie (David) Nau, Michael (Amy) Lavender, sister, Jane (Joseph) Petta, step-grandchildren, Austin (Jalen), Zachary, Jason, beloved cat, Chloe who was his best friend, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Francis’ family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes 16650 State Route 31 Holley, NY 14470 on Monday, July 17th from 4:00-7:00pm. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 9 S. Main St. Holley, NY 14470 on Tuesday at 10:00am. Interment with military honors will be held privately at Holy Cross Cemetery in Holley.
