Obituary of Francis Gaylord Holley: Francis W. Gaylord, age 90, died May 11, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at the NYS Veterans Home in Batavia. He was born May 27, 1923 in Holley a son of the late Wendell and Mable (Kuhn) Gaylord. Francis served his country in the US Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater and was a member of the Holley Fire Dept., American Legion Jewel Buckman Post #529 and the VFW Post #202 both of Holley. Francis was an avid Race Car fan and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His greatest enjoyment was being around family and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife Helen (Campito) Gaylord in 1994, his parents, Wendell and Mable Gaylord; brothers, Donald, Almond and Paul; sisters, Eleanor Risner and Barbara Palermo
He is survived by his children; Francis M. (Karen Clark) Gaylord, Roxanne (Jerry) Wagner, and Philip (Karen) Gaylord, all of Holley. His grandchildren; Amy (David) Wothers, Capt. Lindsay Gaylord, Courtney Gaylord, Shelby Gaylord, Traci (Jeffrey) Barnett, Dr. Tricia (Brian) Bradac, Jerry (Carolyn) Wagner, Katie (Trevor) Niles, Joseph (Nicole Perry) Gaylord, great grandchildren; Joshua and Jared Wothers, Ava and Ethan Barnett, Jackson and Benjamin Bradac, and Adeline Wagner, brother and sisters; Ross (Jean D'Lallo) Gaylord, Arlene Mawn, both of Holley, Sandy (James) O'Brien of Albion, and Patricia (Donald) Hoyt of Middletown, OH, sisters-in-law, Charlotte Gaylord, Donna Gaylord and Rose Campito and brother-in-law, Stanley Passarell, several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, 16650 State Route 31 (West Albion Rd.) Holley, NY, Friday May 16th from 2:00-8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at St. Mary's Church in Holley at 10:00 AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Holley Fire Dept. 7 Thomas St. Holley NY 14470 or the NYS Veterans Home at Batavia, 220 Richmond Ave. Batavia, NY 14020. Visitation
