Obituary of Frank R. Doud Barre: Frank R. “Russ” Doud “God loved him enough to give him life and now He loves him enough to take him to his eternal home.” Russ passed into God’s hands on December 29, 2016 after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, June C. (Hicks) Doud. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Hilda Doud, His sister Carol J. (Doud) Goetz and his adopted son Howie. Russ served in the U.S. Navy for 21 years and was an amphibious Duuk driver among many other areas, and served during a Lebanon evacuation, the Cuba Blockade, Vietnam, as well as Desert Storm. Upon his retirement from the Navy, he went to work for U.S. Customs as a drug detector dog handler and working in many other areas of U.S. Customs before retirement in 1996. Russ has lived in the Barre area since his retirement, surrounded by many nieces, great-nieces, great-great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and great-great-nephews. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother-in-law, Jack Goetz of Elizabeth, NJ, sister-in-law, Shirley (Rich) Hicks of Medina and brother-in-law, David Stark or Rochester. Services will be held in the spring at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Ave. Albion, on Saturday, April 29th, at 11:00am. Burial in Mt. Albion Cemetery will be held immediately following the service.
