Obituary of Frank Sidari (ALBION, NY)
Frank P. Sidari, Sr. age 90 of East State Street, died 4/18/2015 in the Martin Linsin Hospice Residence following a brief illness. He was born 3/17/1925 in Albion to Fortunato and Gladys(Spade)Sidari and was a life-long resident of this area. As part of the last Mounted Cavalry Division in WWII, Frank served as an Infantryman and Rifleman from 1943-1946 in the 124th Cavalry in the China-Burma-India Theater. As a result of his service, he was awarded the Bronze Star, the American Service Medal, the WWII Victory Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Following his Military Service, Frank worked as a Union Carpenter and then as the Albion Code Enforcement Officer. For over 75 years, he was active in the Boy Scouts of America having served 30 plus years a Scoutmaster for Troop #164. Frank was a member of Holy Family Parish, the Albion VFW, and the Hook & Ladder Company of the Albion Fire Department. Mr. Sidari was predeceased by his brother Leonard Sidari and his sisters Jane Ciccoline and Eleanor Irwin. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Jane, his sons: Bruce(Carolyn)Sidari of Albion, Frank(Vicky)Sidari, Jr. of FL, Michael(Brenda)Sidari of Medina, his brother Rocco Sidari of Albion, his sisters: Santa Calles of Albion, Louise Felso of Lyndonville, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Avenue-Albion, THURSDAY from 4-8 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend Frank's Mass of Christian Burial FRIDAY at 10 am in Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph's Church. Interment with Military Honors will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans, 14080 Rt. 31 W., Albion, NY or Boy Scout Troop #164, 3231 Eagle Harbor-Waterport Road, Albion, NY, 14411. Visitation
