Gary P. Menzel

Gasport: Gary P. Menzel, age 70, passed away October 14, 2023 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. He was born December 26, 1952 in Medina, NY to the late Donald and Betty (Childs) Menzel.

Gary was known for his green thumb and taking care of his property with his John Deere tractor. He was also an excellent woodworker and teacher for his wife and family. Gary worked for Harrison Radiator for over 35 years before he retired and was also a Lifetime Member of the Terry’s Corners Volunteer Fire Co., serving his community since he was 18 years old. Gary was also a bit of a jokester, but also was the most kind, loyal and caring man anyone could ever meet.

Gary is survived by his wife of 34 years, Toni Menzel, his daughters, Stephanie (George) Steimer, Toni (Todd) Sullivan, Kristen (Randy) Bergin, Stephanie (Brett) Dust, grandchildren, Emma Steimer, Joshua Steimer, Ava Dust, Dillan Bergin, Wesley Dust, Reese Bergin, brother, Doug (Lynn) Menzel, as well as several nephews.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at the Terry’s Corners Volunteer Fire Co. 7801 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Gasport, NY 14067 on a later date.

Flowers are gratefully declined and memorial contributions in Gary’s name may be made to the Fire Company.

Gary’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home of Middleport, NY.
