Gary R. Plummer

Obituary of Gary R. Plummer (Lyndonville) Gary R. Plummer, 78, passed away suddenly on October 11, 2018. Gary was born in Medina, NY on February 14, 1940. He was the son of the late Howard and Marion (Axtell) Plummer. Gary was a graduate of the Lyndonville Class of 1958. Gary was the loving husband of Sharon (Hughes) Plummer of Albion for 32 years. Gary is survived by his three children Cynthia (Randy) Hurt, Chad (Lisa) Plummer, and Carrie (Mark) Standish, and his two step-children Mark (Lisa) Stone and Charlene (Scott) Chadwick. He is also survived by his grandchildren Sarah (Garret) White, Adam (Phoebe) Standish, Christopher Standish, Sydney and Peyton Chadwick, Ryan and Logan Stone, and Aaron Hurt, as well as three great grandchildren. He is survived by his brothers Carlton (Mary) and Lee (Val) Plummer. He is survived by many nieces and nephews, and by many close friends, both near and far. Gary was a heavy equipment operator at Keeler Construction Company for 42 years. After retirement, Gary worked at Poverty Hill Farm. Gary loved the outdoors, was an avid skeet shooter, and enjoyed boating, fishing, and travelling. He most loved spending time with his family and friends. Gary will be remembered and forever respected for his truly one-of-a-kind qualities. He most recently enjoyed his summers at the cottage on Shadigee Lane, Lyndonville, and spent the winter months at his home in Clover, SC. Gary was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Albion and the ARP Presbyterian Church in Clover, SC. He was a Brother of the Free and Accepted Masons, Renovation Lodge #97. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, October 16 from 2-4 & 6-8 at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Avenue, Albion, with a Masonic Service immediately following at 8 PM. Gary’s Memorial Service will be on Wednesday, October 17 at 11:00am at the Albion First Presbyterian Church, 29 East State St. Albion NY 14411. Burial will be in Bates Rd. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in memory of Brother Gary Plummer at Renovation Lodge #97, 39 Platt Street, Albion NY 14411.
