Obituary of George R. Bower Holley: December 15, 2020 at the age of 83, George entered God’s eternal care unexpectedly with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with T cell Large Granular Lymphocytic Leukemia. Born February, 1937, he was predeceased by his parents, Harry & Amelia Bower, son Edwin, brothers, Edwin, Paul, William & Harry, sisters, Mary and Louise. He is survived by his beloved wife Sandra (Gillette) Bower of 62 years and sisters Margaret, Virginia & Betty. He is the cherished father of Lisa (Kevin) Logsdon, Randy (Robin) and Michael (Jill) Bower. He is the devoted grandfather to Andrew, Steven (Felicia), Edwin (Leah) Bower, Lauren (Trinity), Michael (Kevin Kinear) Logsdon, Jessica (Tyler) Smay, Jacob (Star), Adam (Devin), Aaron (Kendra), Jonathan (Sarah), Patrick (Allyssa) Bower, and 6 great-granddaughters, Kailynn, Adalyn, Isabelle and Nora Bower, Sadie Smay and Emilia Logsdon. He is the loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Those who knew George understood his dedication and love for his family’s well being and happiness. A life long resident of Orleans County, George was a graduate from Holley High School and attended RIT. He worked for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY and Washington, DC retiring after 32 years as the Director Of Patent Services. George was very active in his local community retiring as a Orleans County Legislature where he served as Chairman, Murray Town Board member, Murray Town Justice, President of the Orleans County Board of Health, Orleans County Industrial Development Agency and Board Member of the Lakeside Hospital. He was a member of Brockport Country Club, Hickory Ridge Golf & Country Club, Holley Fire Dept., Orleans County Magistrates Assoc., and Chorus of Genesee. He loved playing cards with his Monday afternoon friends and watching the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball games with his family. By far, George’s greatest pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. Watching them grow to independent, successful adults made his life complete. A Mass of Christian Burial for George and Sandy will be held at St. Mary's Church Saturday May, 29 at 10:30am followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
