Obituary of George Payton Jr. (HOLLEY)
George S. Payton Jr., age 51 of Ridge Road, died suddenly 6/28/2014 in Medina Memorial Hospital. He was born 7/8/1962 in Coshocton, OH to George (Sr.) and Grace(Guldenschuh)Payton and had lived in this area for over 25 years. Mr. Payton was the Owner/Operator of GSP Enterprises where he was a Master Mechanic who could 'fix anything with a motor'. George was known as a person who loved history, was well informed and well spoken. He had a great memory and relished the opportunity to engage people in debate. George was known for his masterful grilling skills, and will be remembered for his love of camping and his 4-wheeler, being the life of the party, and as a devoted family man who took an active role in the lives of his children. He is survived by his wife of 25 years Donna(Downs)Payton, his daughters: Leah and Lexi Payton of Holley, his brothers: John(Lynne)Payton of Rochester, Greg(Laurene)Payton of Ithaca, his sisters: Gayle(Brett)Payton-Walls of OH, Joy(Tom) Payton Roe of OH, his parents: George (Sr.) and Grace(Guldenschuh)Payton of Ithaca as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 16650 State Rt. 31 (W. Albion Rd.,)-Holley, WEDNESDAY from 4-7 and in the Ithaca Salvation Army Worship Center, 150 N. Albany St.-Ithaca, THURSDAY from 11-12 where George's Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon. Interment will follow in South Hill Cemetery.
