Obituary of George William Walker George William Walker, age 71, of Gasport, entered into rest on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Niagara Hospice in Lockport surrounded by his loving family. Born December 30, 1946 in Lockport, George is the son of the late: George and Margaret (Dunnigan) Walker. George was a 1965 graduate of Lockport High School. He served his country in the US Army from June 16, 1966 until June 14, 1968. He received the purple heart after being hit with shrapnel from a grenade. George was an outdoorsman enjoying camping, hiking and fishing. He loved to go to Florida and visit his many friends. His favorite thing to do was going to all of his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was a family man through and through. Surviving George are his children: Alyssa (Christopher) LaPort and Ian J. (Sarah) Walker DDS and grandchildren: Hannah, Bella, Alexa, Flynn, Shelby, Sophia and Franklin. Brother of the late: Robert Walker and Richard Walker. Also survived by his x-wife: Camille (Zayac) Walker and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Cornell Cooperative Extension, 3387 Lake Avenue, Lockport, NY on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 12 pm until 4 pm.
