Obituary of Gerald A. Hochreiter Kendall: Gerald “Jerry” A. Hochreiter, age 70, formerly of Rochester, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 27, 2017. He was born January 26, 1947 in Rochester to the late George and Geraldine (Frye) Hochreiter. Jerry was a retiree of General Railway Signal, currently Alstom, where he was also a member of the union. After he retired, he opened a Deli in LeRoy called Woody’s Deli to keep himself busy. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed playing golf, gardening and living in the country. Jerry also served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Jerry is survived by his brothers, Robert W. (Joanne Lindboe) Gernon, David (Kathy) Hochreiter, Ronald (Shelly) Hochreiter, Stanley (Civita) Hochreiter, aunt, Marie Hochreiter, several nieces, nephews, a grandnephew and cousins. There are no prior calling hours. Jerry’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish at Annunciation Church 1754 Norton St. Rochester, NY 14609 on Friday, December 1st at 11:30am. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Jerry’s name may be made to Golisano Children’s Hospital 300 East River Rd. P.O. Box 278996 Rochester, NY 14627. His grandnephew, Aiden Raines, who he adored was cared for by the Hospital.
