Obituary of Gerald William Nicholas Gerald “Nick” William Nicholas, age 77, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Hospice Buffalo. Born July 30, 1937 in Lockport, Gerald is the son of the late: Norman C. and Ruth (Marsland) Nicholas Sr. Gerald served his country in the US Navy from September 12, 1956 until July 4, 1963. He was a member of the US Navy Seabees Island X-8, Tonawanda, NY. He worked at General Motors in Lockport until he transferred to the plant in Athens, Alabama where he retired. He enjoyed golfing, growing roses and going to the casino. Surviving are his children: Kelly (Anthony) Copani of Lancaster, Gerald W. Nicholas Jr. of Jacksonville, FL and Linda (Michael) Palermo of Newnan, GA. He was predeceased by a daughter: Nancy Nicholas. Step father of: Cindy Huntington of Lockport, Julie (Greg) Kulzer of Rochester and Ronald (Celeste) Huntington of Lockport. Brother of: Norman C. (Marilyn) Nicholas of Newfane, Melvin P. Nicholas of Lockport, David C. (Lynne) Nicholas of Newfane and the late: Harold Nicholas, Beverly McEnroe, Mary Jane Stemper and Richard (Linda) Nicholas. Gerald is also survived by several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He had lived in Auburndale, FL, previously of Gasport. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport on Monday, November 3, 2014 from 3 – 6 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from the funeral home at 11:00 am with the Reverend Rodney Klinzing officiating. Interment will be in Hartland Central Cemetery, Gasport.
