Gregory A. Groat

(Kent NY) Gregory A. Groat age 68 passed away August 1, 2023 at Rochester General Hospital. He was born June 9, 1955 in Rochester, a son of the late Paul and Agnes (Schneider) Groat and had lived in this area all of his life.

He was a member of the St. Mary’s Athletic Club in Albion and the Operating Engineers Union IUOE #58.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Joshua Groat.

Greg is survived by his wife Onnalee “Liz” Groat; his children Sarah (Justine) Segear-Groat, Travis Baldwin, Onnalee O’Connor; grandchildren Little J, Merrick, Anderson, Zephyr; brother Paul (Kathy Sanfilippo) Groat; sister Judy Davenport, Charlene (Walter) Gilbert, Marilyn (Dick) Rink as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

His Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday September 17th at the Laurelton Fire Department, 405 Empire Blvd. from 2:00pm-4:00pm. Burial will be in Irondequoit Cemetery, 3671 Culver Rd., Rochester NY. Arrangements were entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Albion.
