Obituary of Harold E. Mufford Harold E. Mufford went into rest on Dec. 19, 2016. He was born July 23, 1924, a son of the late Doris and George Mufford. He was the beloved husband of Mildred (Reak) Mufford. They were married for 70 years. He is survived by his children, Tom, Ron (Linda) Mufford, Linda (David) Kozubal, and Lisa (Jim) Logel; his sister, Marcy Anderson; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Harold served in the United States Army Air Forces. He flew on B-29s in World War II. He retired from Harrison Radiator after more than forty years of service. Harold was the mayor of Middleport from 1979 to 1985. He helped start the Middleport Recreation Commission. He was on the Hartland Central Cemetery board of trustees, and he was a Middleport village trustee for many years. He was an active member of Clute-Phillips American Legion Post #938. The family will be present on Tue., Dec. 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bates, Wallace and Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport, to receive friends and family. A prayer service by the Clute-Phillips American Legion Post #938 will take place at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where a funeral service will be held on Wed., Dec. 28 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Hartland Central Cemetery.
