Obituary of Harriet Hollenbeck Hoster Harriet Emily Hollenbeck Hoster age 88 of Geneva (formerly of Seneca Falls and Barre) died October 2, 2017. Harriet was born January 20, 1929 in Beaver Dams, NY to Aranthus and Alice Frederick Everts. After her Father’s death when she was 6, she spent time in foster homes in Burdett and Reading Center before living her high school years with a cousin in Phelps, NY. She graduated from Phelps High School in 1947. She worked her whole life, starting at Shuron Optical in Geneva. Later she was a corrections officer at the former Albion State School for Women. She drove school bus and worked in the cafeteria for Albion Central Schools for over twenty years. Since retiring, she has lived in Barre, Seneca Falls and Geneva. Harriet was a Sunday School Superintendent at Barre Center Presbyterian Church, as well as a member of the True Blue Class and a church Elder. She served in the Auxiliary of both the Barre and Canoga Fire Departments. She was very active in the Barre Grange, playing many roles in the famous Grange Plays. Hattie was a prolific quilter. She leaves a loving legacy. She was predeceased by: husbands Louis F. Hollenbeck in 1986 and John H. Hoster in 2011; son Tracy Lee Hollenbeck in 2005; son-in-law James D. Narburgh in 1999; brother, James Levett Everts in 1959; and sister Clara Everts. She is survived by four daughters: Barbara Bailey of FL,Karen Narburgh of TN, Faye (Bruce) Stowell of NY, Carol (Bill) Duke of NC, One daughter-in-law Patricia Westlund Hollenbeck (Tracy) of TN, step-children:John (Theresa) Hoster, David (Marjorie) Hoster,Thomas (Marilyn) Hoster,Martha (Philip) Rogers all of Central NY. Many beloved Grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Avenue, Albion on Friday October 6, from 11:00-1:00, followed by her funeral service at 1:00. Dr. Bill Duke, son-in-law, will officiate.
