Herman John Munzel

Obituary of Herman John Munzel Herman John Munzel Jr., age 87, entered into rest on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Menorah Park Health Care Facility in Syracuse. Born October 14, 1930 in Medina, Herman is the son of the late: Herman John and Ida (Schultz) Munzel. He married Eleanor Ingersoll July 29, 1951 at the Quaker Road United Methodist Church. Herman served his country in the US Army from 1951 until 1953. He worked at Harrison Radiator in Lockport for 20 + years. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church being past council president, the Gasport American Legion and a past Boy Scout Master for Troop 18. Herman loved gardening, working with his tractor and woodworking. He was an all-around handyman. Surviving Herman is his wife: Eleanor; children: Mary (Mark) Anderson, Marcia (Charles) Stapleton; grandchildren: Eric Anderson, Kristina (Wayne) Glaude, David (Jillian) Stapleton, Michael Stapleton (Maria) and Steven Stapleton; great grandfather of: Grayce and Lyla Stapleton and Abigail Glaude; uncle of: Gerald Bergeman and the brother of the late Helen Bergeman. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 10:30 am from the Zion Lutheran Church, 4447 Central Avenue, Gasport, NY. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will be held immediately following at Hartland Central Cemetery, Gasport. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Zion Lutheran Church of Gasport.
