Howard F. Smith, Jr.

Albion: Howard F. Smith, Jr., age 88, passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2025 at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. He was born April 12, 1936 in Batavia to the late Howard F. Smith, Sr. and Helen (Williams) Smith

Howard was proud to be a Marine and served his country for 10 years in the Korean War and Vietnam War. He worked for the Orleans County Nursing Home for many years before retiring in the late 90’s. Howard loved animals of all shapes and sizes.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Candice Turner, grandchildren Jennifer Martin and Michael Turner.

Howard is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Gail, children Luann (Jeff) Young, Lisa Smith, Elizabeth (Daniel) Bezon, Duane Smith, Eric (Karen) Turner, Randy Turner, Sam Turner, 12 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.

There are no prior calling hours. Private interment will be held at Mt. Albion Cemetery.

Howard’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home of Albion, NY.
