J. Francis Gaughn

Obituary of J. Francis Gaughn J. Francis Gaughn of Middleport passed away Thursday morning May 30, 2013 at the Medina Memorial Healthcare System. Mr. Gaughn was born in Lyndonville, NY on June 26, 1927 son of the late M. James and Margaret N. ( Reynolds )Gaughn. Mr. Gaughn lived most of his life in Middleport and was a graduate of Royalton Hartland High School. He and his wife Rose (Nunnari) Gaughn were married April 15, 1950. Mr. Gaughn was employed as a fire fighter at Bell Aerospace. He was a longtime memer of the Middleport Fire Company and the Exempts, was a past Chief of the Fire Company and had been President of the Exempts, was Chairman of the Niagara County Fire Advisory Board, a member of Knights of Columbus, Medina Council # 651, was the Faithful Navigator and member of St. Joan of Arch 4th Degree Assembly Knights of Columbus, was a member and past President and District Director of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Mr. Gaughn is survived by his wife Rose L. Gaughn, three children Michael Gaughn of New Jersey, Kathleen (Kevin) Pecoraro of Pine Bush, NY and Mary Beth (Rich) Hickman of Burt, NY., four grandchildren Anna Pecoraro, Emma Pecoraro, Nora Gaughn and Maya Gaughn. Brother of Margaret Trinder of Florida, Mary (Frank) Lewandowski of Medina and the late William Gaughn and Pat Kempton. Also surviving is a brother-in-law Paul Kempton of Florida and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00AM at Holy Trinity Parish/St.Stephen's RC Church, Vernon St., Middleport where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Joseph Vattar officiating. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery. Memorials to Hospice of Orleans County or the Middleport Fire Company would be appreciated by the Gaughn family.
