Obituary of James A. Dutch Niederhofer He was employed by the Orleans County Buildings and Grounds Department, having retired in December 2009 and was self-employed, operating Niederhofer Construction. He had also worked for Batavia Farm Equipment, Lee's Roofing and Archer Lumber. Dutch was a life member and Past Chief of the Carlton Fire Company No. 1 Inc. He was a social member of the Albion Exempts, life member of the NRA, member of the North-South Skirmish Association, First New York Dragoons and the Long Riders Cowboy Action Shooters. He enjoyed camping, hunting, shooting sports, watching the NY Yankees, NASCAR, Indy racing and spending time with family and friends. An unknown author wrote: Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body. But rather to skid sideways, totally worn out, with a beer in one hand, shouting "Whoo, what a ride!!"
