Obituary of James R. Steier (ROCHESTER)
James R. Steier, age 59, died 10/30/2017 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born 12/28/1957 in Brockport to Raymond and Shirley (Kidney) Steier and had lived in this area most of his life. Jim worked as an Environmental Control Technician for Novar Co. and was a volunteer for the Monroe C.E.R.T. as well as the Medina Railroad Museum. He enjoyed sailing and was a huge karaoke enthusiast. He is survived by his mother: Shirley Steier of Spencerport, brothers: Stephen Steier of Spencerport, David(Donna)Steier of Rochester, sister: Patti(Raymond)Goodwin of NC as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Avenue-Albion, SATURDAY from 1-2 p.m. where his Funeral Service will be held immediately following visitation at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Mt. Albion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Medina Railroad Museum, 530 West Ave., Medina, NY, 14103 or the Wilmot Cancer Institute, 601 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, NY, 14642.
