Gasport: James H. Voelker, age 79, passed away May 2, 2024. He was born January 27, 1945 in Lockport to the late Howard and Mary (Hayes) Voelker.
Jim was a lucky man who spent his life doing all things he loved. He worked at the Courier Express as an apprentice for printing. He went on to work for UPS until his retirement. He enjoyed farming and collecting tractors to restore. Above all else, he loved his wife, his family and his friends. His retired life was highlighted by his many adventures and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He lived life to the fullest and spread joy to everyone every single day.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Katherine Boergers, and sister Rita St’ouge.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Bonnie Hanssen-Voelker, children Matthew, Mark and Sarah Voelker, step sons John (Rose) Hanssen, Michael Hanssen, step daughter Amy (David) Hanssen-Keyes, 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, brothers John “Jack” (Lois) Voelker, Richard (Denise) Voelker, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jim’s family will receive friends at the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home 4521 Main St. Gasport, NY 14067 on Tuesday, May 7th from 4:00-7:00pm where his funeral service will be held the next day at 10:00am. Interment will be held at Royalton Mountain Ridge Cemetery.
