James W. “Jim” Brown, age 72, died July 17, 2024 following a lengthy illness. He was born October 16, 1951 in Grundy, VA to Adam and Flora (Hess) Brown and had lived in this area for over 40 years.
Jim was a United States Army Veteran and had owned and operated Jim’s Plumbing Service for over 30 years. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing and feeding the squirrels. Mr. Brown was predeceased by his son Clinton and his brother: Cecil.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Doreen, his children: Jennifer (John Poprawski, Jr.) Brown of Albion, Lindsey (Leonard) Johnson of Avon, Stacey (Duane) DeRoller of Hamlin, 9 grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Taylor, Colby, Caden, Chase, Carter, Cameron, Clarke, Liberty, 5 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours and a Celebration of Life for Jim will be announced and held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hamlin Post # 6703 VFW, 1739 Lake Road, Hamlin, NY, 14464. Jim’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home of Albion.
