Janet "Mapes" Babcock

Obituary of Janet (Mapes) Babcock Albion: Janet M. Babcock, 79, died peacefully with her family and friends by her side on March 23, 2017. Janet was born August 5, 1937 in Lyndonville, NY a daughter of the late Ralph and Margaret (Lacey) Mapes. She was graduate of Lyndonville High School, class of 1957. On August 31, 1964, she married Marvin Babcock who predeceased her in 1980. Janet was a Teacher’s Aide at Albion Central School from 1981 to 2005 and will be remembered for her love of animals, playing cards and bringing joy and laughter to everyone around her. In addition to being predeceased by her parents and her husband, Janet was also predeceased by her brother, Ronald Mapes and sister, Donna Sager. Janet is survived by her daughter, Marlene Babcock; cousin, Dolores Lucas; dear friend, Laura DePuy and her feline grandcats, Oliver, Walter, Riley and Sampson; and nieces and nephews.
