Jesse Elsenheimer, 91 entered in to rest on Saturday March 6th after a short illness.
He is pre-deceased by his wife and mother of his children June (Crosby) Elsenheimer, his wife Kathyrn (DeAngelo) Elsenheimer. He is survived by his loving companion Lorna Becker, Daughter Kandi (Damon Horton) Mathews, Son Derk (Jolynda) Elsenheimer. Loving grandfather to Makenna Elsenheimer, Samantha and Angelica Mathews, Mathew, Joshua, Jessie Horton, and Nick, Anna Sevenski and his great grandchildren.
Jesse was one of seven brothers and sisters, survived by his Brother Donald (Joe) Elsenheimer. Jesse, known as Uncle Merle to his many nieces and nephews. He was partner with three brothers as Elsenheimer & Kill Building Corp. starting in the 1950’s where he was responsible for the heating, wiring, and plumbing, building hundreds of homes and businesses and worked closely with the local farming community.
He was the owner of the family run restaurant Kandi’s Koffee Kup in Gasport in the late 70’s and 80’s. Starting in the 1990’s Jesse played a vital role with E&M Properties, both a new home construction and multi-family holding company. He served in the US Army spending time in Europe. He was active in the community, serving on the Royalton-Hartland Board of Education including his time as President from 1971-1981. He was also on the Niagara-Orleans BOCES board, including the time of the Orleans-county facility construction.
He was active in both the local and state organization of the Odd Fellows United Lodge #98, Myrtle Rebekah Lodge #84, Niagara Enterprise Encampment #88, and Buffalo Canton #5 and rising to a level of Grand Marshall of the Grand Lodge of the state of New York. In his “spare” time Jesse enjoyed playing softball and bowling and loved music and dancing. His faith in God was unwavering as a member of the United Church of Christ both at Orangeport and in Gasport but also enjoyed fellowship with his church family at Zion Lutheran Church. He will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends at the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street-Gasport, THURSDAY 3/13/2025 from 2-4 & 7-9pm.
