Obituary of Joann M. Berns Black Joann M. Black (Berns), age 76, of Middleport, formerly of Hamburg entered into rest on Monday, November 19, 2012 at Niagara Hospice House. Born January 13, 1936 in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Grace (Kingsland) Berns. Joann had worked for the Buffalo Family Practice in East Aurora in medical records. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, camping and gardening. She was a member of the Middleport United Methodist Church. Joann is survived by her children: Joseph (Samantha) Black of Ohio, Jeffrey (Janice) Black of Arkansas, James (Barbara) Black of Boston, NY, and Jill (Robert) Seelbinder of Middleport. She was predeceased by a son: John Black. Grandmother of: Jennifer, Jeremy and Matthew. 3 great grandchildren also survive her. Sister of the late: Shirley, Sandra, and Kenneth. She was predeceased by dear friend: Edward Cichuniec. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport on Friday, November 23, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012 from Middleport United Methodist Church, 9 Park Avenue, Middleport, NY at 2:00 pm. Inurnment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Hamburg, NY.
