Obituary of John F. Dean John Dean, age 92, of Newfane, entered into rest on Monday, April 29, 2013 at Newfane Rehab and Health Care Facility. Born December 12, 1920, John is the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Wolbrecht) Dean. John was married to the late Josephine J. (Stodolka) Dean on June 24, 1950 at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church in Barker. Mrs. Dean died November 20, 2008. John had worked at Bedford Blacktop in Gasport as a truck driver. He had previously worked at Bowers Blacktop in Wrights Corners. He was a member at St. Brendan’s on the Lake R.C. Church, (Newfane Site) and an exempt Fireman at Wrights Corners Fire hall. John enjoyed playing the harmonica and tinkering with machinery. John is survived by his children: Robin Staples of Lockport and Rory Dean of Lockport. Grandmother of: Melissa MacFarland, Nathan MacFarland, Jack Staples, Thomas Dean and Katie Dean. Brother of: Agnes Urtel of Akron and the late: Clarence Dean, Joseph Dean, Gertrude Good and Robert Dean. John is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home, 6139 East Avenue, Newfane, NY on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 1:00 pm from St. Brendan’s on the Lake R.C. Church, (Newfane Site), 3455 Ewings Road, Newfane, NY 14108. Interment will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery, Lockport, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to: Wrights Corners Fire Hall.
