(Albion) John “Jack” Edward Baron Jr., age 72, died July 28, 2024 at his home. He was born June 1, 1952, in Harrison Township, Pennsylvania to the late John E. Baron Sr. and Jean Helene (Firanski) Baron. He moved around when he was younger, until they had found the quaint town of Albion, which is where he had lived for much of his life. Jack graduated from Albion High School in 1970 and attended every reunion. He worked as an electrician for FMC in Middleport for 37 years, and then retired after working for Chapin International in Batavia, where he continued to attend every summer BBQ.
Truly sticking to his nickname, Jack was a “jack of all trades” and found the value in giving his time. If he didn't know how to do something already, he was a quick study in figuring it out. He was very invested in scouting with his boys, having been a den leader, Cubmaster, and assistant scout leader. Jack was very supportive of his children, attending every school event that they were a part of; sports games, musicals, plays, concerts, and any other school event they participated in. Not only was he supportive of his children, he was also supportive to others as well, lending a helping hand whenever he could. Jack was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and had just joined the choir this year. You could always catch him humming and singing tunes, even at the dinner table.
Jack was predeceased by not only his parents, but also by his son, Andrew “Andy” John Baron.
He is survived by his children, Jeanine Baron and Jeff (Shannon) Baron; grandchildren, Chloe, Natalie, Zack, and Jay; siblings, Bonnie Baron, Tom Baron, Jill (Roger) Chandler, and Trudy (Ben) Andersen; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His family will receive friends at the First Presbyterian Church, 29 E. State St, Albion, NY 14411, on Sunday, August 4, 2024, from 2-4pm with his Celebration of Life Service following at 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the WNY Scout Council #380, 2860 Genesee Street, Buffalo, NY 14225. Arrangements were entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. Albion.
