John S. Joy

Obituary of John S. Joy John S. Joy age 86, died April 10, 2012, at Lakeside Memorial Hospital. He was born November 13, 1925 in LeRoy NY a son of the late George & Josephine (Belliotta) Gioia. John served in the Merchant Marines and the US Army during WW II and was in the second wave landing at Omaha Beach in Normandy. He graduated from S.U.N.Y at Brockport with a BS in Education. He taught and coached at Albion Central School for 3 years. After teaching, John owned and operated Muckland in Elba for many years. John was a member of Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph's Parish Council, St. Vincent DePaul Society and the Albion Lions Club where he received the Melvin Jones Award.
