Obituary of John Charles Marotta John Charles Marotta, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 17, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Born September 12, 1933 in Lockport, John is the son of Anthony and Anna (Porretta) Marotta. A graduate of DeSales High School, John married Mary Ann Gerner June 15, 1957 at St. Joseph’s Church in Lockport. Together they had five children: Ann (Wade) Joseph of Lockport, Carolyn (Stephen) Giroux of Middleport, John Michael Marotta of Niagara Falls, Robert (Sue) Marotta of Ontario, NY and Rosemarie (Jason) Beedon currently overseas. John is the brother of: Frank (Mary) Marotta of Smyrna, TN. Also surviving John are 25 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. John retired from General Motors in Lockport in December of 1997 where he was a Serviceman Departmental in the Distribution Center. He enjoyed farming, hunting cooking and growing plants in his greenhouse. His greatest joy was his family and they are comforted knowing that John is in the arms of his loving Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ. Family and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services for John on Saturday, January 24, 2014 at 11:00 from Hess Road Wesleyan Church, 2514 Hess Road, Appleton, NY. Burial will be at Wrights Corners Cemetery, Lockport, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to: The Benevolent Fund at Hess Road Wesleyan Church, 2514 Hess Road, Appleton, NY 14008 or Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
