Obituary of John W. Ralph John W. Ralph of Lyndonville passed away Monday, May 20, 2013 at his home.
Mr. Ralph was born in Medina, NY on November 7, 1949 son of Dors J.( Shickler) Ralph and the late George J. Ralph. Mr. Ralph grew up in Middleport, was a graduate of Royalton-Hartland High School. While at Roy-Hart in l968 he was the New York State champion in the 100-Yard butterfly. Also that same year, he broke the Roy-Hart 100-Yard butterfly record and held it for thirteen years. He served in the US Army from l970-l972. He served in Europe and while in the Army established one of Europe's first drug abuse centers. He was a graduate of Erie County Community College where he received a metallurgy degree. He was also a graduate of RAMAPO College where he received a bachelor's degree in business administration and environmental science. He married Florence Burke February 1, 1986 in Batavia, NY and he has lived in Lyndonville since 2001. He enjoyed his family, food, the outdoors, the family cottage, swimming. He enjoyed the news and especially
the news in the daily newspapers. He had worked at Babcock Utilities in Gasport as the Chief Financial Officer.
Prior to that he had worked for Abex as a national sales manager. He is survived by his wife, Florence Ralph, two daughters and one son LaRiena Ralph (Joe Dobkin) and Nicole Ralph (Michael Dickmann) both of Philadelphia, Penna., and Jonathan Ralph of Lyndonville, one grandson Ari Dobkin of Philadelphia, his Mother Doris J. Ralph of Tonawanda, his siblings George Ralph of Middleport, Ann (Martin) Busch of Middleport, Carol (Joel) Babcock of Barker, James Ralph of Middleport, Donald (Betty) Ralph of Lyndonville,Marc (Michele ) Ralph of Medina, Michael (LeeAnn) Ralph of Cape Coral, Florida and Gordon Ralph of Lockport.
Also surviied by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM with the Rev.
