Obituary of John D. Strickland (ALBION)
John D. Strickland, age 90 of Kent Road, died at his residence 12/16/10. Mr. Strickland was a United States Army Air Corps Veteran serving as a Pilot during WWII. He served as former Director of Weights and Measures for Orleans County and as an avid sportsman, was instrumental in the repopulation of Turkey, Pheasant, and Coho Salmon in this area. He was also one of the founders of the Black North Rod and Gun Club, a member of the Orleans County Federation of Sportsmen, and served as a delegate to the New York State Conservation Council.
