Obituary of John W. Totter (HOLLEY) John W. Totter, age 57, died suddenly February 13, 2019 in Strong Memorial Hospital. He was born December 16, 1961 in Brockport to Leon and Gloria (Jackson) Totter and was a life-long resident of this area. As a Licensed Practical Nurse for Lifetime Care in Rochester, service to others was a major part of his life. He was a member of several Fire Departments over the years to include the Hilton Fire District, the Brighton Fire District, Former Chief of the Clarendon Fire Company, Safety Officer and Chaplain of the Holley Fire Department, former Fire Commissioner of the Fancher, Hulberton, Murray, Holley Fire District and also served several years as Chaplain for the Western New York Volunteer Fireman’s Association. John was also a member of the All-In Brass Band, and former member of the Empire Statesmen Drum and Bugle Corps. His pride shown brightest when he would interact and spend time with his two sons, watching sports of any kind…especially soccer. In keeping with his life’s mission of service to others, upon John’s passing, he became an organ donor hoping to give others whom he did not know, the Gift of Life. Mr. Totter was predeceased by his parents, two nephews: Mathew Fulks and Gregory Totter, and his beloved Julie. John is survived by his sons: Ethan Michael Totter and Noah John Totter, the mother of his children: Courtney Totter, his siblings: Tom (Kristy) Totter of Holley, Lee Ann (Jerry) Glogowski of Holley, Joann (Frank) Ricotta of Rochester, Janet (Sharon) Totter of TX, Sue (Paul) Volkmar of TN, Judy (Bob) Fulks of VA, Joe (Steph) Totter of CA, Penny (Paul Gaskin) Buckland of Brockport, several nieces, nephews, cousins as well as great nieces and nephews and many dear friends. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 16650 State Rt. 31 (West Albion Road) Holley, FRIDAY February 22nd3:30-8pm where his Funeral Service will be held SATURDAY at 11am. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery.
