Obituary of John F. Ward John F. Ward left his earthly life of 87 years to go home with our Lord in heaven on Thursday, May 7, 2015 after a long battle with cancer to wait for his loving wife, Vivian of 60 years to join him in the future. His daughter Bonnie (Tim) Kreutter of Geneseo, son Bernard Ward of Holley, grandchildren, Stephanie (Gary) Pritchard of Kenmore, Alex (Tayler) Kreutter of W. Henrietta, and Amber Callen- Ward of Holley, were very dear and precious to him. John was predeceased by his parents, Huron and Caroline Ward, brothers, Clifford, Elmer and Wade "Bud" Ward, sisters, Viola DeLaura, Nancy Karpenko Saxton and Ona Mignano. He is survived by his sister, Beulah Ward and sister-in-law Dorothy Ward. Holley has been John's home all his life and special thanks go to his neighbors, the Dabney's and the Ryan's for their support and help throughout his illness, as well as your Dr. Hussain and his nurse, Mary Jo Mele. John was happiest when he could be outdoors in the warmth and sunshine whether it was gardening, caring for the lawn and flowerbeds or just "puttering" in the barn. His creativity was put to good use in caring for his family, his home and the land around it. When not busy at home, out came the golf clubs to enjoy. Golf was his favorite past time. For 23 years, he and his wife spent their winters in Florida where they owned a home in Outdoor Resorts of Orlando; where golfing was his "joy" along with playing cards with his Florida friends. John had served in United States Army and was a current member of the American Legion, Disciples United Methodist Church and in the Seniors Golf League at Hickory Ridge. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 4:30 PM to 7 PM at the Disciples United Methodist Church on Holley- Byron Rd. (Rt. 237) in Clarendon, NY, where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM with the Pastor, Rev. Jack Laskowski officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
