Obituary of John A. Weits, Sr. (CHURCHVILLE)
John A. Weits, Sr., age 71, died 10/18/2017 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born 8/28/1946 in Albion to Arthur and Wilma (Eyre) Weits and had lived in this area for many years.John was a 50+ year member and Elder of the Albion 1st Presbyterian Church and was a former member of the United States Coast Guard Power Squadron. He loved to travel, relishing the time in his RV, as well as enjoying his cars, photography, working on his house and fussing over his animals. Most of all, John had a terrific sense of humor and was a true family man for whom his grandchildren were his pride and joy. Mr. Weits was predeceased by his brother Howard Becker. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Suzanne, his children: John (Tamie) Weits, Jr. of Spencerport, Steven (Elizabeth) Weits of Brockport, Christy Burda of Spencerport, his brother: Wallace Becker of Albion, sisters: Cheryl Wright of Albion, Deborah (Ronald) Spanton of VA, Wilma Becker of Albion, Kathy Smith of Holley, Nancy (Ronald) Horth of Waterport, his father: Arthur Weitsof Albion,6 grandchildren: John III, Cynthia, Justine, Kaylyn, Adam, Braden as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Avenue-Albion, SUNDAY from 2-5 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend John’s Funeral Service MONDAY at 11 a.m. in the Albion FirstPresbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Albion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association, 8550 W.
