Obituary of John B. Wing Holley/Kendall: John B. Wing, 85, passed away July 31, 2019. He was born November 22, 1933 in Toledo, OH a son of the late Clarence and Utilia Wing and moved to Rochester as a young child. John served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to his wife Ann in June 1958. In 1970 he moved to Holley and remained there until his kids were grown and on their own. In the summer of 1987 he moved to Kendall and in 2015 moved to Brockport. John retired from Eastman Kodak Co. in 1990 and also served as a part time police officer in Holley for several years. For many years John was very active in the Kendall Lions Club and enjoyed playing “cards with the boys”. He was a former board member of the Lakeside Hospital Foundation. John was always busy, but most of all loved spending time with his family, kids and grandkids. He was predeceased by his brother, David Wing. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ann G. (Cushing) Wing; children, Vikki (Mark) Donnelly of Brockport, Christopher (Denise) Wing of Holley; grandchildren, Tara (Adam Morrell) Townsend of Washington DC, Elissa (Michael) Maxson of Rochester, Nicole (Eric) Gallert of Holley, Mark (Heather) Wing of Holley, Amanda Wing of Rochester; 7 great-grandchildren, Christopher, Lily, Allison, Hayden, Joseph, Bennett and Geraldine; sister, Hillary (Clint) Wing-Richards of Virginia; brother, Joseph Wing of Maryland; nieces, nephews, cousins. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 16650 Route 31 Holley, on Monday August 5, from 5:00-8:00. A private graveside service with military honors will be held at Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kendall Lions Club, P.O. Box 416, Kendall, NY 14476.
