Obituary of Josephine M. Button Josephine M. "Jo" Button, 86 of Albion, NY, entered into rest on Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Medina Memorial Hospital. Born on January 5, 1929 in Elba, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Ida (Barber) Motz. Jo grew up on the Motz family farm in Elba, on June 9, 1951 she married the late Fred Button, who passed away in 1986. She made her career as a cook at several local restaurants including Marti's and
Tillman's Village Inn, and later in the dietary department at Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital in Albion, until her retirement. She enjoyed bingo, cards and trips with the WNY Senior Citizens group. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, St. Mary's Athletic Club, Albion Fire Dept. Women's Auxiliary and the Senior Citizens of Western NY. She is survived by three children, Edwin (Velma) Button of Knowlesville, Thomas Button of Southbridge, MA, Peggy (Dale) Barringer of Albion, six grandchildren, Jamie Tavelaris, Jacob (Casey) Button,
Matthew, Patrick, Morgan Button and Jasmine (Christopher) Mosele, six great-grandchildren, Creed, Ahna, Hayden, Julia, Maddison and Chloe, also, many nieces and nephews, including her very dear niece, Betty Erdmann of Kendall, NY, and dear friends, Gloria Kuhn and Cecile Miller. There are no calling hours.
Relatives and friends may attend a Mass of Christian Burial
on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family/St. Joseph's Church, Albion, NY and burial will be in the Mount Albion Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Jo's name to: Albion Fire Dept., 26 E. State St. Albion, NY, 14411.
