Obituary of Josephine A. Schulte Holley: Josephine A. Schulte age 87, was received into the arms of her loving savior on Thursday December 1, 2016. She was born March 18, 1929 in Holley, a daughter of the late Giovanni Gifaldi and Angeline (Sabella) Gifaldi Carlo. Josephine was a graduate of Holley High School and S.U.N.Y at Brockport with a Master’s in Education. Josephine shared a great love for literature and learning with her family, and as a Professor of English at Genesee Community College for many years, she touched the lives of numerous students. Josephine was a devoted parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Holley. She enjoyed life, and loved her family and dancing. She had a laugh that would resonate throughout a room. Josephine’s family would like to thank the loving staff at Westwood Commons.
Josephine is survived by her daughters, Lisa Zittel of Kendall, Georgianna Schulte of OH., and Beth (Robert) Miller of Holley; 8 grandchildren, Richard (Karen) Bartlett, David (Kelly) Bartlett, Stacey Bartlett, Lauren (Sam) Welch, Michael Szymanski, Jesse, Jonathan and Joshua Zittel; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Chipper Gifaldi of Holley; sister, Sally Rytlewski of Albion; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home, Inc. 16650 Route 31, Holley, Tuesday December 13, from 5:00-8:00. Josephine’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Holley, Wednesday December 14, at 9:30am. Interment will be in the spring at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 435 E. Henrietta Rd. Rochester, NY 14620.
