Obituary of Joyce M. Harris WATERPORT - Our most loved angel, Joyce M. Harris, 65, of Oak Orchard River Road, passed on April 24, 2015 in the Martin Linsin Hospice Residence after her courageous battle with cancer. She was born on October 22, 1949, in Clarence Center, to the late Howard and Lois (Long) Krull. At the age of four, she moved and lived her life on the family farm in Waterport. She was preceded in death by her sister, Judith Krull Munzel. Joyce graduated from the Albion School system and attended Rochester Business Institute. She was the secretary / bookkeeper for her family's farming operation and then for Torrey Farms and finally for Shelby Stone. She has been on the Town Board of the Town of Carlton for eleven years. Recently she, along with her partner Molly Gardner, enjoyed running a refurnished furniture business, Chartreuse, out of the Shops on the Ridge Coop in Greece. She loved being with her grandchildren, attending their horseshows, sporting games and school events, plus taking them for rides in her convertible. She always looked forward to the "Friday night" comraderies with friends and lifelong YaYa group. She was always going to thrift shops, garage sales and flea markets. She had a passion for reading and her animals, birds and extensive flower gardens. Joyce is survived by her husband of 47 years, Wilson (Wil) Harris of Waterport; her daughters, Jill (James) Darling of El Paso, Texas and Michelle (Scott) Ander of Gasport, New York; her four grandchildren, Nickolas and Abigail Ander, and Joseph and Joshua Darling; a brother, David (Darlene) Krull of Waterport; plus nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Avenue, Albion, Tuesday from 1:00-3:00 & 6:00-8:00. Joyce's Memorial Service will be held Wednesday at 11:00am at the Gaines Carlton Community Church, 14585 Ridge Road, Albion NY. Interment will be following at the Kenyonville Cemetery, Oak Orchard River Road, Town of Carlton. Family and friends are then invited to celebrate Joyce's life at the Town of Carlton Fireman's Recreation Hall in Carlton Station.
