(Albion) Joyce Kathleen Kent, lovingly known as "Nana" and "Mom," passed away on February 21, 2025, in Albion, New York, at the age of 79. Born on July 6, 1945, in Rochester, New York, she lived a life filled with love, kindness, and devotion to her family and passions.
Joyce was a hardworking and determined woman who took pride in her career. She owned her own cleaning business and also worked at a craft store, where she could share her love for creativity with others. Her passion for crafts extended beyond work—she found joy in sewing, painting, and creating beautiful things with her hands.
Animals held a special place in Joyce’s heart. She adored riding her horses and cherished the companionship of her beloved dogs, cats, and birds. But above all else, Joyce loved being surrounded by her family. She was a devoted mother to her daughter Joyce Allen; a caring sister to Barbra Patchin and Roger Mitchell; and a proud grandmother to Katrina (Branden) Sisney and Kaylee (Richard, Jr.) Robb. Her love extended to her great-grandchildren: Bubba, Bryan Kent, Richard Robb III, Karlee Kent, Aubrianna Robb, and Novalee Robb.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glen “Eddie” Kent; her parents Kathrine Mitchell and Raymond Mitchell; her siblings Chet Mitchell, Ruthie Freeborn, Jack Mitchell, and Gerry Whiteside.
Joyce will be remembered for her kind and loving nature. She had an open heart that welcomed everyone into her life with warmth and generosity. As a devoted nana and mother, she created lasting memories filled with love that will be cherished forever by those who knew her.
May her memory bring comfort to all who loved her.
Her Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Albion.
