Obituary of Judith L. Szymanski (HOLLEY) Judith L. Szymanski, age 85, died 12/12/2018 in the Martin Linsin Hospice Residence following a short illness. She was born 7/12/1933 in the Town of Greece to Carl and Gertrude (Stigel) Coates and had lived in this area all of her life. Judith enjoyed many activities throughout her life including bowling, going to the Casino, BINGO, bird-watching, gardening, and traveling to Maine. In addition she was a very artistic woman taking time to sew, do all kinds of crafts and loving her cat, “Puss”. She was woman who prided herself on making the most out of what she had and yet, was a very generous and giving person. Judith was fiercely dedicated to spending time with and loving all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived by the motto, “Respect, Responsibility, and Resourcefulness.” Mrs. Szymanski was predeceased by her husband Louis, a brother Henry Coates and a sister Arlene Hughes. She is survived by her children: Cindy Oppel of Batavia, Michael (Tina Reed) Szymanski of Holley, Steven (Monica) Szymanski of Rochester, daughter-in-law: Cynthia Szymanski of Holley, 7 grandchildren: Rae (Jennifer) Drennen, Jen Oppel, Matt Oppel, Lauren (Sam) Welch, Michael Szymanski, Kate (Bill) Rumsey, Sierra Post as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 16650 State Route 31 (W. Albion Rd.)-Holley, MONDAY from 6-7 p.m. where her Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. following visitation. Interment will be in Sandy Creek Cemetery.
