Obituary of June Aina Albion: June Aina, 90, of Albion, NY, entered into rest on May 7, 2014.
She was born to the late Lew Dingler, February 22, 1924 in Oklahoma. For several years June and her close friend Vera Neri, owned the Town and Country Dress Shop in Holley, NY. June loved her kitchen and she spent many hours baking and cooking some of the most delicious foods you've ever tasted. She loved to spend time with and entertain her family and friends. June was a member of Holy Family Parish in Albion, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Sheret Post # 35 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She volunteered her time to Meals on Wheels, Hospice of Orleans County, and the Veterans Hospital in Batavia.
She was predeceased by her husband Jim, her daughter, Kathy Jo, her brother, Charles of Oklahoma, her sister, Oma of Texas and her sister Bess of Oregon. She was also predeceased by her loving foster parents, Leroy and Josephine McClendon of Idabel, Oklahoma.
She is survived by her children; Pat (Linn) of Pike, NY, Joe (Shirley) and Jim (Eileen) of Waterport, NY; her sister-in-law, Catherine DiLaura of Albion; sister, Jo Campbell and brother, Jim McClendon, both of Oklahoma. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Ave, Albion, Wednesday, May 14, from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00. A celebration of her life will be held at Holy Family Parish, 106 S. Main St. Albion on Thursday, May 15 at 10:00am. Burial will follow the mass at St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Knights Kadlerli Memorial Fund, Inc. P.O. Box 684, Medina, NY 14103 or Holy Family Parish. Visitation
