Obituary of Karl B. Hoefer . Karl B. Hoefer of Lockport passed away early Wednesday morning, February 25, 2015 at his home. Karl was born in Lockport, NY on September 3, 1961 son of the late Edgar F. and Martha (Schaglagel) Hoefer and he grew up in the Lockport area. He was a graduate of Genesee Community College and also graduated from the Police Academy at Genesee Community College. Karl and his wife Mildred E. (Rugg) Hoefer were married October 24, 1981. Karl was an avid worker starting at the age of 14. He was employed as a driver for Stahley Coach in Nashville, Tennessee and he had owned a driveway sealing and maintenance company and had been a self-employed retailer of meats and seafood and had also been a heavy equipment operator. He was Chairman of the Conservative Party for several years, a 20-year member of the Niagara County Auxiliary Police and was an avid Boy Scout Leader of Troop #40 in Wrights Corners. Karl was an avid singer, enjoyed playing the guitar and he started the singing group "Reunion". Karl is survived by his wife Millie E. Hoefer, two sons Dearick Hoefer and Joshua B. Hoefer both of Lockport; his seven grandchildren Jarame Hoefer, Emma Hoefer, Mathias Hoefer, Arilee Hoefer, April Hoefer, Xabier Hoefer and Madelyn Hoefer. Also surviving is a sister Leisel Hoefer and a brother Eric (Lynn) Hoefer both of Lockport and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call Saturday from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00PM at Grace Bible Church, 6023 Dutton Place, Newfane, NY with the Rev. David Emmons officiating. Burial will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery.
