Obituary of Katherine L LaLonde Albion- Katherine "Kathy" LaLonde, 54, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2013 surrounded by the comfort of her loving family. Born in Albion, NY a daughter of the late Sanford L. and Joyce E. Church, she graduated from Albion in 1977 and has been a lifetime resident. Following her graduation at Syracuse University with a BS, MS and PhD, Kathy worked at Rochester General Hospital in the Nursing Research Department, Orleans County Community Action, and most recently for SUNY Brockport where her passion and dedication to every life task was exemplified. The First Presbyterian Church of Albion held a special place in her heart, where she was involved in programs of all type, particularly youth programs, including Pray and Play, Sunday school, Mission Trips, the Heifer International Ark Fundraiser, the many Christmas Pageants, and TGIF. The impact of her genuine compassion and Christian love will carry on in others always. On December 1, 1984, she married her loving husband and best friend, Steven LaLonde. They celebrated their 28th anniversary last year. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 3 children: Michael, Timothy and Joyce LaLonde; brother Sanford A. (Diane) Church, sister Julie (Scott) Sanford; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Friends are invited to call on Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, 12 Ingersoll, St., Albion. Funeral Services will be Friday at 11 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Albion with Pastor Doug Holmes officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery. Memorials in Kathy's name may be made to the 1st Presbyterian Church at 29 East State St., Albion NY 14411.
