Kathleen M. "Katie" Denny

Barker: Kathleen M. “Katie” Denny, age 84, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 5, 2023 at Buffalo General Hospital with her loving family at her side. She was born March 13, 1939 in Buffalo to the late George and Grace (Coates) Spangenberg.

Katie loved painting and was very talented artist. She enjoyed going camping with her grandchildren at Lighthouse Christian Camp in Barker. Katie and her husband were married for almost 68 years and together they enjoyed dancing and as of late were the last ones on the dancefloor at any wedding they attended, something their family was very proud of. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, watching any activity they were involved in and listening to their stories.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Larry Dean Denny, granddaughter, Herinka Parkes, sister, Sue Griffin, and step mother, Alice Spangenberg.

Katie is survived by her loving husband Melvin, children, Debbie Miller, Kathleen (Ron) Grimes, Melvin (Meg) Denny, Gigi (Ken) Sherrie, Laurie (Dave) Morrison, Cindy Denny, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, siblings, Mary (Late Ken) Gumaer, Chris (Cindy) Spangenberg, Marty (Bob) Gross, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Hess Road Wesleyan Church, 2514 Hess Rd. Appleton, NY 14008 on Sunday, July 9th from 2:00-3:00pm where her memorial service will follow at 3pm. Interment will be held privately at Somerset Cemetery.
