Obituary of Kathryn A. Shacur (Kent) Kathryn A. “Kathy” Shacur age 78, died June 5, 2021 at her son’s home following a long illness. She was surrounded by her family. Kathy was born July 29, 1942 in Buffalo and had lived in this area for the past 20 years. Kathy loved analyzing people’s handwriting, art; especially painting and making jewelry. She liked socializing and talking on the phone. Kathy taught art in Buffalo for many years and then worked as an Administrative Assistant for the University of Rochester at Strong Memorial Hospital, retiring after 30 years. She was a very caring woman, taking people into her home when they had no place to go and helping them however, she could. Kathy was predeceased by her daughters Anne Klahn and Leslie Klahn-Shacur. She is survived by her children William C. Klahn, Jennifer (Mike) Lapinski, John (Kristina) Klahn, Geoff (Michelle) Klahn, Michael (Ashley) Klahn-Shacur; grandchildren Rachel, Phillip, Michael, Emily, Steven, Kathryn, Jessica, Matthew, Anthony, Ryan, Julia, Bré, Jaydon, Monte, Marii, Marcelles, Marlessa, Xander; 7 great-grandchildren; sister Susan Leggitt; brothers Jim Leggitt, John Leggitt, Mark Leggitt; her best friend Jessica Shur and many cousins. Her graveside service will be held Saturday June 19th at 11:00am at Stone Church Cemetery in Bergen, 7828 Maple Ave., Bergen NY 14416. A reception will follow.
