Obituary of Keith A. Kent Albion: Keith Alan Kent (9/13/56-4/11/18) Keith lived life to the fullest, priding himself on his wonderful family, including his wife, Lisa(Barker) Kent; son, Aaron (Angel) Kent; daughter, Kayla (Marcelo) Moreira; grandchildren, Emma Grace, Easton, Everett Kent and Jilliana Marie Kent Moreira; his mother, Virginia Grace Johnston Kent Spalla VanApeldoorn; sister, Celia Kiewit; brothers, Gary (Grace) Kent and Kevin Kent; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Keith was predeceased by his sister, Melanie Anne Kent and sister-in-law, Joanne Kent. Keith’s life was a testimony to his belief in hard work. He spent nearly ten years working at Martin Farms in Brockport where he reveled in—among other things--his ability to endure cutting cabbage with the most accomplished farm workers. As principal owner of Jordan River Logging and Kent Farms, he did his best to respectfully harvest hardwoods in the most unobtrusive fashion possible. The same gusto with which he approached earning a livelihood made him a fierce competitor on the basketball court. He was an integral part of an ACS team that featured such standouts as Steve Pettit, Charlie Bond, Clarence Whitfield, Victor Hughes, and Earl Townsend. Put on the free throw line in a one point game at Kendall, with seconds remaining against a loaded, Bouie-led team, he calmly made both free throws to help secure a one point win for Albion. Keith was not one to look the other way in the face of adversity and injustice. Not only did he expect people to do their jobs, but he had little use for liars, murderers and thieves. He would not be intimidated. In the end it was his unwillingness to compromise with what he viewed as evil that may have gotten the better of him. My servant, you fought the good fight and can take your rest, knowing you did the best you could. Our love for you is unending, but The Lord you served loves you best. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Avenue, Albion, Monday April 16, from 2:00-4:-00 & 6:00-8:00. Keith’s funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday April 17, at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Mt. Albion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Albion Betterment Committee, 14487 Baker Rd. Kent, NY 14477 or to a charity of your choice.
