Obituary of Kenneth Sargent Craine Kenneth Sargent Craine, age 77, of Appleton, entered into rest on Monday, February 10, 2014. Born August 19, 1936 in Lockport, Kenneth is the son of the late: Kenneth L. and Dorothy Louise (Sargent) Craine. Ken graduated from DeSales High School in 1954. After graduation he entered the United States Army serving from October 21, 1954 until September 5, 1957. He married Mildred Mangel on August 22, 1992. Ken loved horses and enjoyed raising chickens, cows and pigs. He was an avid reader of the Draft Horse Journal. Spending time with his family was very important to Ken. Picking dandelions’ with his great granddaughter, Cherish, brought him happiness. Surviving Kenneth is his wife, Mildred and children: Grace Pajak of Gasport and Kenneth Craine Jr. of Honeoye Falls, NY; step children: Raymond, Marty, Ruth, Florence and Dorothy Steinagle, Barbara (Bill) Mongeon of Gasport and Dean Voelker of Gasport. Grandfather of: Donna Gregory, Tabitha Craine, Charles (Jennifer) Gregory and Mikayla Craine. Great grandfather of: Cherish Gregory. Brother of: John “Jack” (Maryann) Craine of Lockport and the late Thomas D. Craine. Ken is also survived by 6 step grandchildren, 1 step great-grandchild, several nieces, nephews and great nephew, Keith Steinagle. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home 6139 East Avenue, Newfane, NY on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 11 am until 2 pm. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home at 2:00 pm.
