Kenneth J. Hollinger Jr., age 79 of Oak Orchard Road, died at his residence 8/3/12 following a long illness. Mr. Hollinger served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He was a life member of the Strickland Post VFW and the Hobo Junction Marine Corps League. He was also a member of the Carlton United Methodist Church. Ken worked and retired from Eastman Kodak Co. after 35 years of service and in his retirement enjoyed fishing, trapping, hunting and cutting flowers at Rush's Fruit and Flower Shop. He also enjoyed coffee with "The Boys" at Bertsch's Good Earth Market. Mr. Hollinger was predeceased by his mother Ruth Brown, his father Kenneth Hollinger Sr., and his brother John Hollinger. He leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years Charlene(Restivo), five children: James Hollinger of Albion, Lori Hollinger of Albion, Stephen Hollinger of Medina, Lynda(Bernard)Moore of Gaines, Tina Mead of Carlton, six grandchildren: Brian Kurzowski of Barre Center, Leah Mead of Carlton, Eric Mead of Greece, Lyndsay Moore of Gaines, Jacob Hollinger of Albion, Jared Hollinger of Albion, his sister: Janet(Harry)Maines of Lyndonville, his brother: David(Chris)Hollinger of NC, sister-in-law: Jean Hollinger of LeRoy as well as several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans or the Carlton United Methodist Church. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff, and nurses of Hospice of Orleans for their care and compassion. Visitation
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Avenue-Albion, TUESDAY from 12-2 Services
His Funeral Service will be held immediately following visitation at 2 p.m. Interment
Interment with full military honors will be in Sandy Creek Cemetery.
